The amount of raw tuna that caught around coast of Kinkazan is the largest in Japan. There are about 100 stores in the market, so it is full of energy. There is an area that you can make your assorted seafood rice bowl with what you bought, and you can use free furnace to cook what you bought.

Saura Sake Breweries that is famous for sake, Urakasumi, has a shop and gallery which is adjoined to the breweries. Urakasumi products which you can only buy and taste in Miyagi, pottery and glass tableware are displayed and selled. If you buy Urakasumi’s ochoko（small cup for sake）, you can also enjoy tasting sake.

A three-story wooden hatago (accomodations) which was built in Meiji period and was rare at the time was renovated. The exterior has been restored from the original construction. There is café Harema on the first floor, Shiogama Machikado Museum on the second to third floor opened in 2016. It became a new face of town.

The Shiogama city public hall central office branch office which was built in 1950 was renovated, and reopened in 2014. 9.7 meters high beautiful auditorium is the symbol. Art works of western-style painter Jun Sugimura who is respected as a ‘’still life scholar’’ are permanently exhibited, and to support young artists, we also hold various exhibitions and events.

A shrine that has been revered as a gurdian of Tohoku and Ichinomiya Mutsu since long time ago. Every year on New Year’s Day, not only local people but also many worshipers from other area come. At Omotesandou which consists of 202 steps and is called Otokozaka, men carry 1-ton portable shrine on their shoulders and go down the steps during the festival that is held three time in a year. You will definitely be impressed.
